De handelsperiode is alweer half verstreken, de vraag die bij elke handelaar bij het begin van de periode de kop op stak was: Hoe gaan deze nieuwe winkels de handelsprestaties beïnvloeden?
Uit de omzetstatistieken is gebleken dat in vergelijking met vorige handelsperiode, er een omzetdaling is van bijna 5 miljoen ISH. Hoewel we niet met zekerheid kunnen zeggen of dit integraal te wijten is aan de nieuwe winkels, is er toch wel sprake van een behoorlijke verandering. Het lijkt er op dat de Digitalianen het beste hebben gereageerd op dit nieuwe spelelement. Met maarliefst 11 top 25 plaatsen nemen zij de absolute handelsmacht in handen. Een beeld dat al gedurende een aanzienlijke tijd niet meer waar te nemen was, we moeten tot ronde 89 terug gaan voor de laatste Digitaliaanse eindoverwinning.
Grote verliezer van het hele verhaal is overduidelijk Ibisha, vorige ronde nog 9 top 25 eindnoteringen en thuishaven van de winnaar, nu pas op plaats 21 te bespeuren in de omzet top 25. De strijd om de eindoverwinning deze ronde is nog lang niet gestreden. Grote kanshebber lijkt op dit moment Ronald die met zijn houtimperium een stevige omzet wist uit te bouwen. Maar ook Technix, Vincitore en goudie zijn zeker nog niet uitgeteld. Het belooft nog een spannende strijd te worden!

De verloedering van de Cyberische taal

Zwollar – De Cyberische taal verloedert. Volgens recentelijk onderzoek van het onderzoeksbureau ‘Niets te Vinden’ onder leiding van B. Drog blijkt de Cyberische taal wat het 100 jaar geleden was totaal te zijn veranderd. Een blik naar het verleden en een blik in de toekomst.
Volgens Proffessor Dokter Anders B. Drog was er 100 jaar geleden in Cyberië niet eens de duidelijke communicatie die we op dit ogenblik hebben. Mobieltjes en op straat praten werd pas ca. 25 jaar na Wouter ontdekt. “De levende Godachtige persoon”, zoals deze door velen bij het onderzoekzoeksbureau genoemd word, “heeft de technologie binnen deze Federatie doen opbloeien”.
Wanneer wij naar collega proffesor Ben Nietwijs gaan, vertelt hij ons over de taal binnen de Federatie over nog eens 100 jaar. Volgens hem zal onze God Wouter nog altijd leven, dit omdat hij onsterfelijk is. Maar vele generaties binnen de Federaties zullen de taal langzaam maar zeker doen verloederen.
De Rednax uithangen is een klassieker geworden. Rednax wordt dan omschreven zoals de katholieken de profeten kennen. Of het gezegde Water halen in Kronenburg zou nog wel eens waarheid kunnen worden. Want in 2178 zullen er in de hele Federatie grote overstromingen zijn. Waardoor er in 2188 wel een meer zou kunnen liggen bij Kronenburg omdat het om een tijdelijke overstroming gaat.
Hierbij is het duidelijk dat het verstand komt met de rondes, want twee rondes geleden wisten we nog niet wat er vandaag zou gebeuren. Maar het is alsof we het in YenVille horen donderen, dat betekent dat we niet precies weten wat er komen gaat. Maar wel altijd op onze hoede moeten zijn voor het gene wat komen zal.
Ben Nietwijs legt het ons nog eens een keer uit. De Cyberische taal verloedert door alle handelaren, ze misbruiken onze gezegdes en na 10 uur ‘s avonds is het helemaal niet meer om aan te horen. In landen als Virtua en Ibisha Island word er helemaal vreemde taal gebrabbeld. Maar let op mijn woorden, IK, Proffessor Ben Nietwijs, zal pas na mijn crematie verstrooid raken.”

A New Shop?

The rumors seem to be true, the Federal Government announced a big change during the 100th trading period. The Federal Government sent out their newsletter only a day ago, however there was no additional explanation from the Federal Government what exactly changed. After a session talking to a reliable source, The Miniconomist was able to uncover some details of the new shop types.
The first important aspect is that there is no more way to expand the shop size after it has been built. Traders need to plan in advance how big they want their shop size to be and whether they can afford such shop sizes at that moment. Here comes the second problem along, since every shop type has a different set of requirements. These requirements start with just money to buy a lot for a Market Booth, and after that shops will also need products. It is thus very important for old traders to take a close look at the new shop size limits and its costs.
Third there are multiple sets of limitations for each shop type. The MegaStore will require more security tools to get the same level of security as a Brick Shop. On the other hand, the security options for Market Booths and Shed are limited. Other differences between the shop types can be found in the use of signboards, sizes of the signboards, amount of lots needed to build the shop and possible limitations with respect to marketing.
Finally the Federal Government advices traders to first keep a close look at what is needed to build a shop and differences with respect to owning the shop. These might differ significantly to what it used to be. The Federal Government however also sees a positive side, since being REA will be more profitable, because a lot of smaller shops will be sold to other traders.
Een Nieuwe Winkel?

Sinds vorige ronde gingen er geruchten rond dat er een grote verandering op het programma stond in ronde 100. De overheid heeft gister via de nieuwsbrief laten weten dat er een aantal nieuwe winkeltypes zullen zijn komende handelsperiode. Helaas ging de overheid slechts beperkt in op de details, maar dankzij goed onderzoekswerk wist The Miniconomist een aantal details te onthullen.
Allereerst zal het vanaf deze handelsperiode onmogelijk zijn voor handelaren om na het bouwen van hun winkel deze nog verder uit te breiden. Een grotere winkel kan alleen bereikt worden door een nieuwe winkel te bouwen, welke groter is, of een grotere winkel te kopen. Hier komen ook nog andere problemen bij kijken: sinds elke winkel anders is en andere materialen gebruikt, zullen er aan elke winkel ook verschillende kosten verbonden zijn. Handelaren moeten dus van tevoren goed kijken welke producten zij nodig zullen hebben om de desbetreffende winkel te bouwen.
Tevens heeft elke winkel ook zijn eigen beperkingen. Zo zal de MegaStore meer beveiliging vereisen om hetzelfde niveau van beveiliging te krijgen als de Stenen winkel. De Marktstal en Schuur daarentegen hebben beperkte of zelfs helemaal geen beveiligingsmogelijkheden. Andere verschillen kunnen bijvoorbeeld teruggevonden worden in het gebruik van winkelborden, de grootte ervan, aantal benodigde kavels voor de winkel en limieten op het gebruik van marketing.
Tenslotte wil de Overheid ten stelligste adviseren dat handelaren eerst kijken voordat zij een winkel bouwen of andere acties uitvoeren met betrekking tot winkels. Deze kunnen significant verschillen ten opzichte van vorige handelsperiodes. De Overheid verwacht positieve effecten met betrekking tot het beroep makelaar, sinds zij het waarschijnlijk drukker zullen krijgen.

The world as we know it has been changed by climatic conditions. These recent changes have destroyed and made communities all around who are looking to survive and move to the next place that gives them a new way of life. Many countries have no form of markets or trade. Some lack the educational resources for the new aspiring workers and traders. Other countries have been devastated by the volcano eruptions happening all over. For years there’s been a place that has flourished as the new beginning for many people.
This place is Miniconomy. Miniconomy despite having to start its society many decades ago while having to cope with the never ending volcanic eruptions, it has found a way to survive and give new hopes to the people that find their way to the Federation. For many years the federated system of four countries has given back wealth and education to the people who decide to participate in the Federation of countries. In the past months new volcanic eruptions happened and changed the lands including countries like Virtua and Cyberia.
During a recent census we have found an interesting flow of new citizens from many parts of the world. Some come as far as the Americas and others from Spain and even Croatia just searching for the opportunity to set up shop and have a new beginning. Newcomers like Electrobuzz have said “It’s exciting to own your own shop” since it has been a while he could establish trade anywhere. He also commented on the issue of having looked for a place to trade like this for many years, “This place is still hard to find but it’s a gem. I have been looking for a place like this for the past 10 years and I just found it. It seems like you have to put the exact wording in google maps to have Miniconomy pop up on the radar”. People have also come to Miniconomy to get an education and see if they can share the success they see here on their own countries. Frenkies came here as foreign student trying to absorb the best he can so he can rebuild his hometown. He is getting his education in the Federation but at the same time he set up shop and has been very successful. “I didn’t know what I could expect but it is an amazing place. I love it and I’m very addicted to it”, he comments on his experience so far. He was asked if he will continue to stay in Miniconomy and he has considered it despite just arriving to study. “Yeah, sure. I’m looking forward to the next trade period”, he states as he is getting his VAT return for his recent sales with a big smile.
Politics has also been influenced by newcomers. Recently in Virtua there have been new faces in the consul and mayor positions. One of the newest consuls and also the funniest Virtuan, an award that is given in that country, is natcha12. You could catch him most of the time in the Virtan chat plaza bring in absurd topics to Virtuans and annoying the MCbot which is a robot that helps everyone with directions in the city and gets them free VirtuAle sometimes. natcha12 has commented that the has found a new home because of the possibility of making money these days, he also states, “This country would be nothing without the chat plaza”. He has shown to be a very down to earth politician by stating that he has no fear of learning from mistakes. He says that a fellow citizen, Likemyitem, helped him when he arrived at the Federation.
Another promising figure in Virtuan politics has been AynRand. Although being one of the most experienced newcomers we could find, he has embarked on a fierce campaign to take the city of Cashington to a new level. He has stated that “It’s the social factor. The fact that Miniconomy is not just an economy, but a society”, drives him to keep doing more for the people. Like many other new citizens he has had mentors. “Ronald and (Brendan) taught me everything”, he comments while having a cigar and looking at the current stocks bought from his city. He, as many others, has goals which include “I expect things to get better, the economy more balanced, I expect the Feds to keep working towards the Federation so it is fair and fun for new and old citizens alike. I expect Miniconomy to keep growing in a positive way, and not keep the status quo. This place has too much potential to let it stay living in mediocrity”. AynRand seeks to stay in office to help share his vision and help his fellow Virtuans obtain their goals.
A new citizen who has also joined the ranks of Virtua recently and has been a consistent trader so far, has been Gaulamos. He came to the Federation looking for new challenges, looking for the next spot to make money. Little did he know that he was gonna get a run for what he’s worth. “It’s fun and despite the competition, people are nice and cooperative”, he comments on how the trading in the Federation is compared to other places he’s been before. When asked for his goals in trade he ambitiously responded with interests in “More products, more cities, and even another country”. He is new to the trading in Miniconomy but not a newcomer to trading in general, “I came here looking to compare this place with another I have seen before; I enjoyed it so much that I decided to stay and keep on trading here”. The new wave of new traders has even touched Ibisha Island. Many Spanish speakers have settled down on the island after hearing about the tropical paradise. Others, like Gandalf-The-Grey, have heard the rumors of prosperity of the Federation and decided to embark on a journey to find a new place to call home. He states that while taking part on some military exercise someone shouted “Ibisha!, go to the Federation and find Ibisha!” and that’s how his journey started. After arriving he says that, “The people are always ready to help and offer great advice”. He also has been more or less a scholar of the never ending information in the Federations archives. “The wiki, the clubs, the people….The information is there, if you take the time and find it”, he says while showing the various club memberships and books he has gathered on his free time. When asked about his goals he states that he wishes to tighten the bonds on the friendships he has started while also learning the political side of the game. He also has a very nice recommendation for the people out there who have yet found a home, a place to trade or a place to just watch and talk with people, “I would recommend this game to everyone, friend or foe, there is something for everyone to do here”.
It is clear that most that arrive at the Federation find themselves doing something unique that fills their economic or social needs. A life of wealth, public service or even a life as a criminal are things that are open to any citizen. They are free to choose what they want to do and deal with the consequences. One thing is certain and that is as long as the rest of the world stands in peril with the dangers of volcanic disasters and economic depression, Miniconomy and its citizens are working together to survive. Always remember. It’s up to you… in Miniconomy anything is possible.

De tweede handelsweek is inmiddels ook weer verstreken. De economische redactie geeft u wederom haar visie op de huidige stand van zaken. CIT houdt stand, de ijzerhandelaar uit Ibisha wist in de tweede week van de periode de omzetvoorsprong op martijn5 verder uit te bouwen tot 233k. CIT is overigens niet de enige die het goed doet op Ibisha, met maar liefst 6 plaatsen wordt de top 25 gedomineerd door het kleine eiland. De eerste achtervolgers zijn Centropolis en Cashington met elk 5 plaatsen. Nergens meer te bespeuren in de databank is Nasdaqar. De voorbije drie periodes was Nasdaqar nog de thuishaven van de rondewinnaar, nu slagen ze er niet eens meer in om nog iemand in de top 25 te krijgen. Om deze rubriek af te sluiten wil de redactie u nogmaals verontschuldigingen aanbieden voor de late publicatie van vorige week.

Redactie: Als je wilde uitgroeien tot de grootste steenhandelaar van de periode, waarom beperk je jezelf dan tot Cyberië, zie je geen opportuniteiten in het buitenland?
martijn5: Dat komt door de houding van het buitenland, er worden daar zelden shops verkocht.

martijn5: Handelspartners heb ik altijd al overal gehad, maar deze periode ontbrak de motivatie om de Virtuaanse markt te verpesten.

Na één week handelen zijn de eerste statistieken verwerkt. Het lijkt erop dat er een sterke machtswissel heeft plaatsgevonden. De voorbije periodes werd de top-25 nog gedomineerd door Virtuanen, deze ronde moeten we echter afzakken tot op de 10de plaats om de eerste Virtuaanse handelaar terug te vinden. Roebelarendsveen doet daarentegen een goede zaak, de stad waar de laatste tijd erg weinig te beleven viel, is opnieuw bezig aan een opmars. Met 3 plaatsen in de top 10 delen zij de macht met Ibisha. De Ibishianen lijken dan ook terug van weg geweest. Het is alweer 6 periodes geleden dat zij nog een overwinnaar mochten leveren. CIT is echter goed op dreef om de titel binnen te halen. Hij heeft inmiddels al een kloof van 110k geslagen op zijn eerste achtervolger martijn5. Gaat hij dit volhouden? U leest het volgende week in de TMC Financial!
