As mentioned during the radio broadcast, the Council of Veterans took a closer look at the salary of the different professions. The reason for this revision was the difference between assistants and experts. The assistance didn’t receive any form of compensation for their job while experts received a small cash bonus. This while a good assistant has to spend a lot more time on his job than the average expert.
After a short discussion with de Federals, it seemed that this change was needed for all professions and not only the assistants. At the start of the trading period, the Federal Coordinator surprised everyone by announcing the salaries of all professions deserved a big raise. It should be possible to end in a high position by being socially active in Micinconomy.
This announcement made the discussion a lot more interesting, although it made things more complicated. What are the possibilities? What reactions would there be? How to prevent abuse? To get a good view on the situation, the CoV gathered information on all professions, but this didn’t help them at all. The CoV has no authority over National Governments. They couldn’t figure out how to solve the situation. Then the Federals intervened, national budgets would be increased to be able to pay for the extra costs.
To provide some concrete proposals, the CoV decided to look at the salaries that were being paid by the Federals and then continue the discussions on altering other salaries. But this didn’t prove to be as easy as it seemed, figuring out the exact numbers was rather hard. After a moment of silence, a proposal was made, it was immediately accepted. The Council of Veterans advises the Federals to pay the following salaries, starting next period:
CoV Chair: 7700 ISH (350 a day)
CoV Member: 5500 ISH (250 a day)
Assistant: 5500 ISH (250 a day)
IC-chair: 1100 (50 a day)
IC-chair: 1000 ISH for each finished case, this money can be used to pay the judges as well.
Expert: 300 ISH
Recruiter: 0 ISH, recruiters will be paid for each finished project.
I’d like to make a side note here, our vision on the experts wasn’t fair at all, this will have to be revised.
For National Governments, I’d like to advise to find a decent balance between time spend on the job and the importance for the state. Furthermore it’s important that people can be judged on the quality of their work. Now people are getting a decent salary for their jobs, they are assumed to provide quality. The persons responsible for the finances will have to talk with the Federals to discuss the possibilities and extra budget.
