Dear traders, members of parliament, officers, mayors, federals and all others in the Federation called Miniconomy. A long story will follow. Probably a lot of readers will stop right away, also because I am not a great writer. Still I hope that a lot of you will read and think about it. It is about the culture and atmosphere which slowly makes the pleasure of Miniconomy go away.
First I would like to discuss all sub-accounts.
The Federation is being ruined by all sub-accounts of everyone. We all think it is normall to habe multiple accounts. Is also causes a bigger and more complex society ( economicly as well). But it ruins the Federation. A lot of sub-accounts only have the intention to help friends of others. I think that a lot of readers already now what I aim for, but I will give two examples.
I am the mayor of Eurodam.I build on a certain spot a couple of parks. And suddenly a bricktrader has two lots near them, with high lot state. And you can count on it that he couldn’t buy any free lots anymore. How he got these lots? Exactly, a sub-account helped him a little by buying and selling the lots to him.
You also have sub-accounts which only export goods from their friend. They log in, export en log out. This they do something like 15 times in a trading period.
It is allowed, but is it really the purpose that they get their fortune this way?
I think not. I think these sub-accounts are bad. You have to trade in order to make a profit, not just ‘getting’ money from your friends.
The hostile atmosphere is als bad. Always the shouting on the chat. Always making each other look bad, calling names. The problem is that not ‘a couple of inhabitants’ do this. Dozens of persons do this on the chat, calling names to each other. Hopefully the ignore-function will help against this, but I have my doubts about that. No-one wants not to be disturbed, no, they always want to take on the discussion. They want to shut the mouth of the other. And this goes form bad to worse. While it is somewhat quiet this round in the chat, if I compare it to previous rounds, it still causes me some concern.
This hostile atmosphere has everything to do with granting each other profit. In short: No-one grants each other profit. Only to your friends. A lot of traders don’t want Podje or Basick bv to make profits and win the trading period. The wish not to grant them this, is not so bad, but the consequences are that other traders deliberately ruin the trade of other traders. In Virtua is a trader who deliberately presses the price of iron, because he doesn’t like Basick bv his MV trading bricks and iron there. He says this openly on the chat.
I have also experienced this more than once. It is weak and it ruins the Federation. As trader you really get mad because your shop isn’t running as smoothly as expected. It makes you angry and you think, that if the one who ‘bugs’ you wants to earn a lot of money, you are going to do the same to him. You only get into a falling spiral. Every time the first one get’s beaten back harder than the other.
The border of what can and what can’t in the Federation is fading. At least, that is my finding. Can you make sure you get a lot of profit by trading in a group? Can you shoot someone to death with a group or is this ruining the game? Can you export with a sub-account with the goods you bought by your friend? Are you allowed to ruin the ironprice for fun just to bug someone? Can you close down someones trade by occupying lots around his terrain? Can you do this once? Or can we close down him with a group? Can you help a friend by closing another one’s terrain because your friend hasn’t got enough money? And then sell the lots to your friend?
I assume we all want it to be normal in the Federation. And that traders won’t play dirty anymore. I think this has gone too far. I don’t believe that this problem will solve itself. Knowing that sub-accounts also have a positive effect in the Federation, abandoning them is ot a good solution. Personally, I think a new way has to be taken. Maybe one or two rounds is enough. I think that for a couple of rounds, they have to be much stricter against dirty stuff like mentioned above. I think it is wise to easily give red or some huge fines. And especially being stricter against sub-accounts. Hopefullt this will lead to a better atmosphere and will this work against the destruction of the Federation.
