Happy 60th Birtyday!

Author: Rats!
No, this is not a message to some retired citizen of the Federation, nor is it the celebration of the 60th anniversary of some old building in the old, urban center of Eurodam. This is a message to all Virtuans, for Virtua is nearing the end of its 60th period of existence!

You’ve read it correctly: Virtua is now officially OLD.
And it’s starting to show, to be honest. Old structures have broken down, systems that once worked without needing even the slightest bit of repairs are now falling apart and most of the new generation of Virtuans, Generation V2, as I’m calling it in my upcoming book “History of a Federation” (look for it to appear in your local libraries soon!), has no respect for the values Virtua once stood for.

As I mentioned in the The Miniconomist of two weeks ago, we have all seen the decay of the antiquated political and infrastructural structures of the old Board of Consuls. I returned to the Federation in the hope of seeing White Queen, Riemer_1990, along with a couple of other iconic Virtuans, run the country as it should be: 4 cities, like brothers and sisters, working towards one common goal: lifting Virtua to a higher level.
These goals took almost Olympic proportions, loosely basing their philosophy on the Olympic motto: Faster, Higher, Stronger (with a capitalistic touch, as this goal was primarily meant to make Virtuans able to compete against the foreign economic power of Cyberia and the aggressive attitude of the dreaded Digitalians.

Yet when I arrived at Nasdaqar, I was astounded.
The BoC has become a powerless political organ, a president has absorbed nearly every inch of true political power, hidden behind a socialist façade!

Virtua has had enough!
No more handing out political functions by the dozen!
A strong government, that’s what this country needs…
But one man’s opinion is not enough to change a country; people of Virtua, unite and resist the bureaucracy!
Showing your true nature, that would be the greatest gift of all for YOUR country’s 60th Birthday…
