How many new tenants did you get? How many left? How do you price your floors? What rooms are best?
These question seems to be a regular one each round? Towers are quite interesting and therefore also funny to write about each round. For many rounds, towers has been the main question for all players. What room type is the best? How should you price them? Does it even matter?
As an inhibitor of Guilderland you only need to take a quick look down the streets to see the first 7 Towers, each tower seems to be made for only one kind of floors, so that the trader can calculate the investment more clear. But do it even matter how you price a floor? Well most traders would say yes, a President room that should be able to go to 1000ISH for a single day of rent, dont seems to be rented out unless it is set for 500ish or below. All other rooms looks like they still are rentable with the maximum of ISH, 400ISH for a first class 290ISH for a comfort and 175ISH for a basic.
And when you finally get a tower going, and set the price right, you now have to care for the occupation rate. When you take a look through the towers, and start that old calculator, and try make some percentage math that you have forgotten since 7th grade, it sure looks like, basic, comfort and first class has a percentage of 27-37 occupation and all president floors made after the few days are down to 20 percentage occupation. Now you would think, why the hell should i build then? If i lose money on in? Well if we all make towers, we all need to produce more products, if you ask a chip, plastic or electronic trader they would for sure prefer people made president so they could get some sales, if you ask a iron or wood trader they would most likely prefer basic or comfort. And yes i know i said basic or comfort, yes its not those rooms there take the most of their products, but it would for sure get them sales, and not to much sales for their competitor of other main products. So if you take a look down main road and see those beautiful building, are they made for profit of them self, or are they made for profit of other traders as well?
I know federals don’t like to ping pong to much in politics, but as game maintainer and gamemasters, they should listen to the traders of the game, so if a poll was made for the sake of higher occupation rate in towers, would they listen? Would our trade keep up? Or would our resource lots deploy so fast that it would have been a mistake, would new cities or countries be made to continue a fast growing trade? I leave the thoughts for you to dream about.
To mention as a last info, it could be possible that even if you make 5000 floors it dosen`s influence on how many tourist there are too occupied the rooms, some bad translation from a conversation between FeC and some traders in Guilderland, it could be understand, that there might be to many rooms build compared for how many tourist there are too occupied them. Maybe we should ask the Federal team, to make more tourist compared on how many parks, harbours, banks, shops, streets, etc etc there are. Because if you look in the real life, a city with many things to see and visit, the more tourist come to the town
