A guide to the Consulelections

Author: Ravox

Compared to a month ago, interest rates for the Consul elections have improved impressively. With only 4 candidates during the previous elections there were hardly enough people to fill up the open government spots. This time, however, there are 8 candidates signed up.

There’s no significant reason for the sudden rise of political activity. The current Board has gone through an easy period without any mentionable problems or critics, but also without any worthy activity. The main reason of this evolution probably is the improvement of a number of new players, combined with the coincidence of others becoming interested. However, the upcoming Board is under some pressure since there are a lot of inexperienced candidates. To help the citizens make their choice a short summary of the candidates is included:

Michel182: Michel has been Consul of Education for numerous times but that seems to be the only thing he cares about. He seems to be interested more in education than in being an active Consul that is valuable in discussions. But that can be said about the entire current Board. As any Consul this round, he did his job well, and hasn’t caused any difficulties. His biggest disadvantage is the fact he isn’t an active member of the community, which will definitely cost him votes. Having a lot of competition for the upcoming elections chances are he won’t be re-elected.

Demon44: New in the Federation since this round, but very promising for the future. He has already achieved decent trading results, became replacing officer, and grew to become a solid member of the Virtuan community in no time. It’s impossible for him to have experience in politics yet, but he definitely deserves this first chance.

Gold Runner: Gold Runner is an active Centropolian, always being around in the community. He hasn’t shown recent activity as Consul, Judge,.. but he is a good candidate since he is regarded as a social and reasonable member which is a very important characteristic in Virtuan politics. The way Consuls handle discussions are more important than having a program or certain views. It’s hard to estimate if he will be elected, but with no doubt he will be backed up by a part of the local community in Centropolis.

Shinchan16: Starting 2 periods ago, he was already elected Consul with 8 votes in his first round. He became very active member of the community and learned fast. He currently is Consul of Justice and Safety. The lack of experience didn’t show at all, he did a decent job. But as for the entire current Board, he also hasn’t caused any worthy improvement. He submitted one law proposal, which was very vague and defended badly so there hardly was any discussion at all. But this is the fault of the entire Board. As a first time Consul after being around for just a few weeks he has done a very good job. The question is if that will be enough to gain the support of enough citizens.

Alecto: More of a trader than a politician, Alecto will still with no doubt be able to fulfill this job as he has built up overall experience for a long time. Consul will be a second job for him, next to full scale trading but he can bring activity and stability to the Board, by using his experience in discussions. Since he has been elected Mayor for the current round and did a good job, he will most probably be elected Consul too.

Dhaval0707: Dhaval has achieved experience on most levels, having been Officer, Mayor, FCS, Judge,.. But he still is on the way of becoming a real veteran, needing a little more experience and activity. He could definitely be a very good Consul, which will mostly depend on his level of activity and attitude in discussions. Recently he has been around, but he hasn’t been very active, which makes it harder to be recognized as a fully fledged candidate.

Samurai02: Samurai has experience as Consul, Judge, Mayor, Officer, FCS and high-scale trader. This is the perfect combo for a candidate. He will be able to use his experience in every sector that is discussed by the Board. Nevertheless he will have competition from other candidates with very high rates of activity. But regarding his status as a respected Virtuan veteran he will probably receive enough votes for his qualities.

Figaro Seraglio: His alter-ego is a Cyberian politician. Now he is trying his luck in Virtua with his concept about a new political system. He hasn’t been a member of the Virtuan community recently at all, just showing up for the elections. He might become a valuable add in the future as he is an active politician in Cyberia. But it’s way too early to judge his political capabilities in Virtua already. As for the upcoming elections, he isn’t ready at all to be elected.
