The age of Intolerance

Author: Marcelbuter

Oh how I look back upon the days that Mayors did their best to try to get experienced traders to trade in their cities and people tried to get political masterminds to help run their governments. How much has changed since then. After announcing my decision to leave Cyberia and head over to help the great nation of Virtua, all I stumbled upon was criticism and negative reactions from the people there.

Y2K said the following “What is this these times with Cyberians trying to integrate in the Virtuan Culture? Also the mayor in cash, Remcowouter thinks he is a true Virtuan, while he has been president too? I think Cyberians need to stay in Cyberia… I don’t like that Virtua is in control of foreigners…”

This actually surprised me since Virtua still has the lowest GDP per capita of the three nations in the Federation and the lawbook is full of simple errors. It would then seem strange that Virtuans would shun help from experienced players such as Remcowouter and I, who have lived everywhere and always tried to help out where possible.

When I came to Virtua in 2023, two years after the nation was founded, no one frowned upon the arrival of Pino1, themini, and myself coming over there to help out, but 26 years later I do get called out by people who call themselves “True Virtuans”.

Maybe one day people will try to do what is best for their cities and countries, but for now, and that counts for all countries, it seems that Miniconomy has turned into a game of showing who’s boss instead of competing on trading and politicial levels.
