Kashingaporian King sues the Miniconomist.

This morning the Kashingaporian King Woshiempire has made a bold move against the freedom of speech in the Federation:
he has filed a complaint against our editor in chief Sesam, stating that yesterday’s article is violating the International Constitution.

In a brief response, our Editor in Chief would like to refute the allegations:

“In both a public and private talk with Woshiempire yesterday we have stated his right of reply in our newspaper. If any of the allegations that were made in the article feel unrightful in any way, he had – and still has- the right to counter them in an official response in the newspaper. Simply refuting them shouldn’t be so difficult if the allegations are incorrect and as a serious newspaper we take correcting incorrect articles very seriously.

But by trying to criminalize the biggest news outlet in the Federation he is also trying to make the free press march to his beat – and that is exactly the thing yesterdays article was about. We sincerely hope that the International Court will refuse his claim, but even if it doesn’t we are sure that in the end justice will prevail.

It is important to know that the Miniconomist has endured worse court cases and the free press in the Federation has been standing for almost 16 years. The Miniconomist does not bend to the will of a king, or a president. Our job is to unveil uncomfortable truths, and the Miniconomist will continue to do so at any cost. That is why we will not reveal the identity of the person that wrote this article, and if necessary we will pay all fines.
Countries may perish, as may Kings, but free speech will always ask difficult questions.”

Despite the combatant response of the Editor, some concerns arise weather or not free press will be silenced in Kwacha Lumpur. Only time will tell but in the meanwhile our Editor in Chief, Sesam, faces a 1500ish fine.
We would like to launch the hashtag #jesuisminiconomist to show your support of our 16 year old project, and encourage every citizen to continue to send in articles. It is the only way to continue building a better world where freedom of speech is absolute.
